Style

Danielle Meijer is currently the only dance instructor in the world to fuse bellydance and Indonesian dance, and it is her hope to be able to teach these techniques and spread this unique style of art. She focuses her teaching on good posture and technique, trying to make learning as easy as possible by allowing students to film lessons and by giving handouts, flashcards, written homework, and syllabi outlining what will be taught that day as well as a breakdown of how to learn each step. The goal is to produce professional quality dancers with a strong foundation not only in technique but in the history and meaning of each dance as well.

Lessons are available in Bharatanatyam, Cabaret Bellydance, American Tribal Style Bellydance (group improvisation), Tribal Fusion Bellydance, Javanese Court Dance (Jogyakarta and Surakarta styles), and Balinese Ritual Dance.

In addition to the dances listed above, performances are available in Argentine Tango and Mu'lan Tai Chi Single and Double Fan.

Teaching Information

Currently, private and semi-private lessons are available.

Instruction Prices:

  • $35/hr single
  • $20/hr per student if more than one student is in attendance
  • $30/hr students with a valid school ID
  • When lessons in more than one style are taken, or if taking more than one class a week, package discounts are available

Performance Information

Aleph World Fusion Dance can accommodate almost any event. Each set is tailored to your needs and can focus on a single traditional dance, many traditional dances, bellydance, or world fusion. Aleph is available for performances of many kinds, and Danielle Meijer has extensive experience performing for a wide variety of audiences at different professional venues.
